I am so excited since this is my first giveaway! I just found out about the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival yesterday at bloggygiveaways.com (yes I do live under a rock, lol)...so even though it's a little late into the game I thought I would join in on the fun. :)
So I am giving away to one lucky recipient a beautiful little rose patterned china teacup filled with an assortment of yummy teas, a beautiful vintage rose postcard, an envelope filled with an assortment of cute little scrapbooking notions, a pretty little white and yellow vintage doily, and of course can't forget the dark chocolate....you gotta have chocolate. *smile*
To enter all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post telling me your favorite holiday or family tradition. Don't forget to include either a link back to your own blog or an email address so I can contact you if you win. The winner will be chosen at random on November 2, 2008. Good luck!
I adore lovely tea cups! My favorite holiday by far is Christmas. I do lots of baking and decorating, we put together gift baskets for friends and neighbors - it's my favorite!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway. I love tea and collect tea cups. One our family traditions is all the girl on my moms side of the family have a girl night in early December where we exchange cookies, bake and have a girls sleepover. It is fun for young and old.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tea cup! We have two traditions at our house. The first is one that I took from my childhood. We have Chinese takeout for dinner on Christmas Eve. My step~mother started this, when I lived in NYC. Chinese restaurants were usually the only ones open on Christmas Eve. We order the works. Everyone's favorite dishes. Everyone loves it! It is delicious, and the best part is all the free time it gives you to play Santa. Not having to cook is one less worry as you are assembling bikes and stuff. The other tradition is I let the kids open 2 of their presents on Christmas Eve. One is a fun one, and the other is a set of pajamas. That way everyone looks spiffy for Christmas morning pictures. Chinese food and pjs that's our Christmas Eve. lol
ReplyDeleteour fav holiday tradtion is for christmas- we read the bible and act out the christmas story. this deepens everything for the children. :)
ReplyDeletebtw- i collect teacups so .....
One of my most favorite Christmas traditions is stockings!! I love to open the little gifts and gadgets that fit in them (and I love putting them together for my husband and kids). I'm especially looking forward to this year because my mom took two stocking and added her tatting embellishments for my kids. They are just lovely, and she has put so much time into them. What a special gift!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is rice pudding...
ReplyDeleteMy family always peels an almond, and puts it into the rice pudding (plain, no raisins or anything) and whoever gets the almond gets a prize...but we all try to fool each other.
I actually hate rice pudding...when I was a kid, one year I flushed the almond down the toilet (I'm still harrassed about that one to this day!)
Great giveaway!
This is a wonderful little gift! One of my favorite traditions is when we go, the day after Thanksgiving, to cut down the Christmas tree for my parents home. We have done this since I was a kid (and it was my tree!), but it is so much fun to now go with them and my husband!
ReplyDeleteDecorating the Christmas tree as a family. That was always nice.

What a special giveaway! My favorite family tradition was standing in our church's live Nativity scene in the early seventies. I've been a wise man, a shepherd, and an angel. I was not allowed to wear my glasses, so when school chums said, "Did you see me?" I said no. They thought I was very devout!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, sweet giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful teacup.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and I started a tradition when my eldest was about 5.
I bought a lovely inexpensive linen tablecloth and I use the same one each year for the Thanksgiving dinner.
Some years , it's just us. Some tears we've invited people that we knew not so well but they had no family meal to attend. Other years relatives come but each year we do one thing the same.
Each year, I give everyone in attendance, even the kids that can't write yet a fabric marker. We each pick a spot and write down (or the kids draw sometimes), one thing that we are most thankful for that year.
The tablecloth is full of memories and lots of times our conversation leads to memories of dinners past. My eldest son will get the tablecloth when he marries and then he will pass on to his little brother.
I'd love to have the teacup on the holiday table this year!
Thank you so much!
